What We Do 

Core Energy, LLC is headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan and was founded in 2003 by Robert G. Mannes (3rd generation in the Michigan Oil & Gas Industry). All of Core Energy's business activity is located in the State of Michigan. Current CO₂ EOR operations are being conducted in Otsego County using CO₂ captured from the gas plant removing CO₂ produced from the Antrim Shale gas fields.

Miscible CO₂ EOR operations are being conducted in depleted reservoirs (Silurian aged Niagaran pinnacle reefs) by injecting CO₂ into the reservoir. This process increases the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field. In some instances the EOR recovery has exceeded 50% of volumes produced during the primary production phase.

Core Energy currently operates 10 EOR projects that are in various phases of development.  By the end of 2016, these projects have already produced in excess of 2 million barrels of oil that would not have otherwise been produced wile sequestering over 2 million tonnes of CO₂ in the process.

CO₂ EOR

Core Energy, LLC is actively involved in innovative oil production technologies and is the only company in Michigan currently performing CO₂ Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations, which is making Michigan's economy stronger and more energy independent while sequestering CO₂. 

Seismic Exploration

By using proprietary seismic processing techniques and specific 3D seismic acquisition methods, Core Energy is able to generate exploratory prospects with extremely high levels of accuracy.

Core Energy is committed to sustainable relationships with stakeholders (citizens, investors, regulators, landowners, elected representatives) during the exploration and EOR recovery process.
